📋 Description

• Run clients' day-to-day financial operations, including general ledger, payables, payroll, and financial reporting • Monitor team usage of internal procedures, processes, and controls • Manage onshore and offshore staff performing transactional and technical accounting activities and preparing client reports or analyses • Assist with financial statement preparation in compliance with official guidelines and requirements • Manage communications with vendors, clients, partners, shareholders, banks, and other interested parties • Manage journal entries and reconciliations and coordinate monthly and annual closing processes • Assist with budgets and forecasts • Review accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances • Convert customers to new accounting systems and clean up clients' books and records • Advise and assist with technical accounting decisions • Develop models and analyses for client requests • Improve internal operations through process, technology, or structural improvements • Serve as primary point of contact and manage external audit processes • Lead the 409(A) valuation process for common stock and advise clients

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or similar position • Desire to work with life science companies • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes, including budgeting, financial closure, and reporting • Knowledge and experience of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) • Understanding of data analysis and forecasting • Experience with multiple accounting systems, including QuickBooks, Xero, Dynamics, NetSuite, Intacct, and other middle-market accounting and ERP packages • Expert in Excel • Well-organized with ability to prioritize • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a relevant field is preferred • MBA or advanced degree would be a plus • Experience participating in an ERP implementation is a plus • Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus • 2+ years of Big 4 or regional public accounting audit experience • 6+ years of progressive experience
