📋 Description

• Lead the company’s technical vision, architecture, and execution as Civis Analytics expands its platform and launches standalone AI products • Report to the CEO and serve as a player–coach who sets long-term technical direction while staying close to systems, decisions, and delivery • Own the cohesion between Civis’s core data platform and growing AI product portfolio • Serve as the technology voice within the senior leadership team and guide decision-making and business planning • Own and drive the technical roadmap across the Civis Platform and emerging AI products • Lead architecture decisions across platform, data, and AI systems • Guide the organization toward an AI-centric product and development environment, including tooling, workflows, and engineering practices • Lead and integrate a cross-functional team spanning product, engineering, data, and AI • Research and evaluate cutting-edge practices and enabling technologies; assess potential partnerships and acquisitions • Represent Civis technology and data science publicly through networking, evangelism, press and peer relationships, high-level sales meetings, and community engagement

🎯 Requirements

• Practical, real-world experience working with AI systems and applying them in production environments • Significant hands-on leadership experience managing software, platform, or data engineering organizations • Demonstrated ability to own and evolve technical roadmaps across multiple product lines or platforms • Experience making architectural decisions for complex, data-driven systems • Ability to engage with technical details to unblock teams or resolve critical issues • Proven ability to hire, develop, and manage high-performing technical teams • Clear, direct communication style and ability to make and stand behind difficult technical decisions • Familiarity with building and scaling AI products in production • Hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms and distributed systems • Authorization to work in the United States • Must currently live in DC, Illinois, Maryland, New York, or Virginia
