• Serve as the principal editor of Spanish-language AP Exam content and associated materials • Strategically plan and maintain documentation supporting Spanish-language editorial work • Edit and refine Spanish-language assessment content for AP Spanish Language and Culture and AP Spanish Literature and Culture • Guide development of AP Spanish Language and AP Spanish Literature course-specific editorial guidelines • Collaborate with course experts and editors to deliver high-quality, error-free Spanish-language assessment items • Provide input on project scopes and timelines and ensure timely delivery • Exercise independent judgment on presentation and style issues, escalating complex issues as needed • Conduct editorial reviews of English-language AP exam questions, test forms, and instructional resources • Ensure content is clear, concise, consistent, grammatically correct, and follows course-specific style conventions • Partner with course experts and editors to ensure accurate assessment items render correctly • Support development of AP course-specific guidelines • Verify citations and source information • Use content management systems and authoring platforms to review and produce publication-ready materials • Perform copy-to-copy comparisons of excerpted passages with original sources • Identify inefficiencies and propose improved editorial practices, including innovative technologies • Oversee editorial reviews for all AP World Language courses • Serve as liaison between external editorial consultants and internal subject matter experts • Provide guidance and feedback to external consultants and internal stakeholders • Apply multilingual editorial expertise to enhance resources and support fellow editors through training and review
• 4+ years of professional copyediting experience in both English and Spanish • Editorial experience with bilingual content, preferably in secondary or postsecondary education • Fluency and proficiency in both English and Spanish in all modalities • Demonstrated proofreading and editing skills • A bachelor’s degree • Extensive demonstrated experience applying professional style guides in editorial work • Knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and the Real Academia Española • Experience editing and working in various content management systems and technical platforms • Strong organizational, time, and task management skills • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet timelines independently and collaboratively • Growth mindset and flexibility in ambiguous and shifting priorities • Ability to travel 3 to 5 times per year or less than 15% to College Board offices or on behalf of College Board business • Passion for expanding educational and career opportunities and mission-driven work • Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies • Willingness to experiment with and adopt AI-driven solutions • Comfort learning and applying new digital tools independently and proactively • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills • Learner’s mindset and commitment to growth • Ability to welcome diverse perspectives and give and receive respectful feedback • Drive for impact and excellence, including solving complex problems and making data-informed decisions • Collaborative and empathetic approach • Authorization to work in the United States
