📋 Description

• Design, develop, and support a scalable, cloud-native, AWS-based platform • Define architectural patterns and API contracts integrating multiple domain services into the BAWP UI • Evaluate feature requests, provide effort estimates, and drive sprint and technical planning • Lead peer code and design reviews • Architect and build secure full-stack solutions using React/TypeScript and AWS-native services • Design APIs and data integration layers aggregating content from upstream domains • Build reusable front-end components and shared modules within the BAWP Shell using micro-frontends or equivalent • Implement cloud-native architectures using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, Step Functions, SQS/SNS, ECS, and CloudWatch • Apply automation, observability, scalability, security, availability, and reliability standards • Integrate monitoring, telemetry, and operational readiness into platform components • Own and evolve automated end-to-end and UI testing frameworks using Playwright • Drive performance optimization across API integration and rendering layers • Solve complex technical problems and improve system design • Mentor and guide engineers on development, testing, and system design best practices • Evaluate and introduce valuable cloud, front-end, and test automation technologies • Communicate technical approaches, tradeoffs, and architectural decisions to engineering and business stakeholders • Partner with product, operations, security, QA, and domain teams • Lead testing, monitoring, reliability, documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement efforts • Embed automated testing into CI/CD pipelines

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing, building, and supporting scalable, cloud-native full-stack applications • 3+ years of experience building modern front-end applications using TypeScript and React • Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, preferably TypeScript, building APIs and data integration layers • Deep experience with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, S3, Step Functions, EC2, ECS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and DynamoDB • Experience with Backstage and GitHub Actions • Experience integrating and aggregating data from multiple independent backend/domain services into a single UI • Strong knowledge of distributed cloud infrastructure and microservices architecture • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK or CloudFormation • Experience building responsive, secure, high-performance UIs using React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS • Familiarity with micro-frontend architectures such as Module Federation • Experience with automated end-to-end and UI testing frameworks and CI/CD pipeline integration • Strong focus on scalability, data integrity, reliability, and quality engineering • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including presenting ideas in business-friendly language and mentoring engineers • Ability to prioritize and lead execution in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment • Authorization to work in the United States for any employer • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills • Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies and willingness to learn new digital tools • Learner's mindset and commitment to growth • Collaborative and empathetic approach • Drive for impact and excellence
