Connections Academy is a tuition-free, accredited K–12 online public school program operated by Connections Education (a Pearson division). It delivers state-aligned curriculum and virtual classroom experiences with certified teachers, personalized learning, and support for families serving as learning coaches. The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• Coordinate the K-3 reading program • Provide job-embedded professional learning through coaching cycles, pre-planning, data collection, classroom support, and reflective conversations • Conduct instructional coaching including goal setting, observation, modeling, co-teaching, feedback, reflection, and action planning • Develop collegial relationships with teachers and provide non-evaluative feedback • Develop literacy theory and Science of Reading content knowledge through professional development • Design, facilitate, and evaluate professional learning sessions supporting evidence-based literacy practices, PLC work, and school-wide literacy initiatives • Coordinate and oversee Acadience Reading, NWEA MAP, and other diagnostic assessments • Support analysis and interpretation of literacy data to inform instructional adjustments • Align coaching work with the School Improvement Plan, Strategic Plan, and statewide literacy goals • Lead the school literacy committee and support MTSS teams with Individualized Reading Plans • Maintain coaching records and documentation • Collaborate with staff to align instructional practices with state standards • Maintain student-information confidentiality and model professional and ethical standards • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Valid Utah Professional Educator License required in Elementary, Early Childhood Education, or Special Education (K-12) • Completion of LETRS training or equivalent required • Professional Instructional Coaching endorsement required, or willingness to obtain it within 2 years of hire • Minimum of 3 years of successful experience as an elementary-level classroom teacher required • 5 or more years of elementary classroom teaching experience preferred • Master's degree or higher in education or a related field preferred • Ability to coordinate Acadience Reading, NWEA MAP, and other diagnostic assessments • Knowledge of literacy theory, the Science of Reading, evidence-based literacy practices, state standards, MTSS, and Individualized Reading Plans • Ability to maintain confidential student information in secure locations • Adherence to Utah Professional Practices Advisory Commission standards
