📋 Description

• Manage the overall quantity and quality of coding production for assigned clients • Manage a team of PB and HB Coding Auditing Specialists • Lead coding quality specialists providing internal hospital and physician auditing • Accurately audit and code facility inpatient, emergency room, outpatient surgery, observation, ancillary, recurring therapy, clinic, professional, and billing/coding edit resolution services • Work with facility-specific, state billing and coding guidelines and Medicare Administrative Contractors nationwide • Collaborate with the MRC Coding Department on coding audits and training • Function as a subject matter expert for a designated specialty • Participate in client discovery and kickoff calls • Manage quality assurance, report creation, and educational delivery for client projects • Coordinate team and client deliverable scheduling • Assist with hiring and exiting auditors • Manage, coach, counsel, and discipline team members • Audit when other auditors are unavailable or additional client support is needed • Assign auditors to new clients and distribute weekly assignments • Monitor weekly billable-hour expectations and daily productivity • Ensure auditors have client information and coding guideline updates • Conduct productivity and compliance review calls with team members • Train new and existing auditors • Participate in or lead special coding and auditing projects • Provide backup leadership for client interactions • Ensure procedures are followed and suggest process improvements • Initiate and complete audit-the-auditor programs • Promote compliance with ethical coding standards, company policies, privacy and security rules, and confidential information protections • Evaluate risk and participate in risk mitigation and deficiency correction • Complete monthly coding audit trackers for onshore and offshore coders • Communicate audit findings to Coding Leadership • Prepare monthly coder audits for quality review • Monitor coding quality staff performance • Uphold corrective action processes for compliance, performance, conduct, and attendance • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• National certification through AAPC or AHIMA • At least 5+ years of previous coding experience • Previous supervisory experience is required • Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel • Ability to navigate a variety of EMR environments and review hand-written charts • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of quality and accuracy • Initiative, resourcefulness, and attention to detail • Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance • High personal integrity and ability to professionally handle confidential matters • Appropriate judgment and maturity • High degree of initiative and dependability • Ability to work with little supervision • Ability to perform work at a computer terminal for 6–8 hours a day • Ability to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs. infrequently
