📋 Description

• Serve clients within the Office of the CFO at private equity portfolio companies • Create diagnostic frameworks and enhance finance function effectiveness • Serve as a GovCon subject matter expert for portfolio company management and sponsors • Drive financial planning, indirect rate strategy, and compliance-aligned reporting • Lead scalable wrap-rate processes and planning tools aligned with DCAA requirements and contract pricing strategies • Build and refine indirect rate structures, provisional billing rates, and rate variance analyses • Develop and optimize planning and reporting tools for cost-plus, T&M, and FFP contracts • Develop bid and proposal pricing support, including rate build-ups, should-cost analyses, and competitive positioning • Develop relationships with portfolio company representatives and private equity sponsors • Collaborate with CrossCountry team members to scope, clarify, and deliver client service • Identify growth and shared revenue opportunities to expand the FP&A capability offering • Oversee end-to-end FP&A engagement delivery, including scoping, staffing, client communication, and quality control • Provide strategic thought leadership across concurrent engagements involving forecasting, budgeting, cash flow, liquidity, performance reporting, KPI frameworks, interim FP&A support, and finance diagnostics • Develop repeatable delivery playbooks, templates, tools, and methodologies • Identify industry developments and articulate impacts on clients • Contribute to compliant, firm-approved AI-enabled client solutions and internal processes • Stay informed about emerging AI tools and techniques • Lead the coaching family as a role model, coach, mentor, and liaison to leadership • Deliver client solutions as part of CrossCountry’s Private Equity practice, supporting portfolio value creation • Contribute to business development, team leadership, junior team member development, and CrossCountry leadership

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of senior FP&A and/or consulting experience • Significant exposure to middle-market, private equity-owned businesses • Significant experience in the Government Contracting (GovCon) space • Experience addressing private equity consulting environments and sponsor–portfolio company relationships • Experience building and mentoring high-performing FP&A teams • Deep GovCon industry experience, ideally in the middle-market space • Experience bridging technical FP&A skills with DCAA/DCMA compliance, cost accounting standards, and government contract economics • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and operationalizing wrap rates and indirect rate structures • Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA audit processes • Incurred cost submission experience using the ICE model strongly preferred • Strong understanding of cash flow dynamics, debt structures, covenant reporting, value creation plans, and exit and diligence processes • Advanced financial modeling skills • Strong verbal and written executive communication skills • Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and switch between strategic narrative and detailed analysis • Knowledge of best practices for optimizing finance functions • Proficiency with GovCon ERP and EPM platforms such as Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, JAMIS, and OneStream • Experience with data analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Snowflake, SQL, and Python • Demonstrated ability to responsibly explore and adopt firm-approved AI tools • Openness to learning emerging technologies, including AI and automation • Proven ability to generate leads from a network outside existing client work • Experience mentoring and developing junior team members and resolving multifaceted issues • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance • Willingness to travel up to 40% • Preference for candidates based in the DC Metro area • U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residency status is strongly preferred
