📋 Description

• Own architecture, hands-on development, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support across PHP web applications • Drive development of the Symfony-based customer storefront and Laravel back-office platform • Lead front-end direction with JavaScript, including jQuery, and CSS • Deliver responsive, accessible, high-performing customer experiences • Champion and evolve AI-assisted development workflows, using AI tools daily and defining effective, responsible workflows and guardrails • Design and optimize queries and schema interactions against SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and supporting services • Set engineering standards through code review, mentorship, testing practices, and technical documentation • Improve reliability, observability, alerting, and incident response for customer-facing systems • Simplify legacy components and reduce technical debt • Break initiatives into deliverable chunks and communicate status, roadblocks, and dependencies to engineering and product leadership • Partner with Product, QA, and Engineering leadership to ship scalable, user-focused features • Support the interview process through recruiter screening, hiring manager interviews, technical panels, team conversations, reference checks, and an in-person interview

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience • 5+ years of professional software development experience with a strong ecommerce or high-traffic web application background • Deep, hands-on expertise with PHP, including production experience with Symfony and/or Laravel • Strong front-end skills with JavaScript and CSS • Solid grasp of HTTP, browser behavior, performance, and accessibility • Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL, including query optimization and schema design • Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining production systems with real end-to-end ownership • Hands-on experience leveraging AI coding tools for development • Ability to mentor others on using AI coding tools effectively • Experience with unit/integration testing, Git workflows, and CI/CD • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Track record of mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction • Valid LinkedIn profile URL, or credible explanation and alternative professional-background evidence if no profile exists
