📋 Description

• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by identifying performance, availability, and security risks proactively • Advise clients on cloud database architecture, migration, and cost optimization across AWS and Azure • Lead architecture design, disaster recovery planning, and capacity forecasting initiatives • Own the database service lifecycle, including backups, HA/DR, tuning, and platform roadmap planning • Define and track database availability and performance SLOs • Drive automated remediation for recurring failure patterns • Lead root-cause analyses and post-incident reviews • Design scalable database structures, partitioning strategies, and audit specifications • Develop and maintain deployment and rollback scripts • Coordinate version updates across environments • Build Python and PowerShell automation for backup validation, monitoring, alerting, and reporting integrations • Migrate and support SSIS packages and SSAS cubes • Develop stored procedures for reporting • Collaborate with client technical teams and executive stakeholders to translate technical findings into business recommendations

🎯 Requirements

• Senior-level SQL Server specialist / Senior SQL Server DBA experience • Advanced T-SQL query optimization, including execution plans, parameter sniffing, statistics/cardinality issues, and Query Store tuning • Experience rewriting and refactoring stored procedures and T-SQL code for performance • Indexing strategy, including clustered, nonclustered, covering, and columnstore indexes • Root-cause performance diagnosis using wait statistics and CPU, memory, I/O, tempdb, blocking, and deadlock analysis • Hands-on Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and AWS RDS for SQL Server optimization • Experience with Azure and AWS cloud database architecture, migration, and cost optimization across IaaS and PaaS • Architecture design, disaster recovery planning, and capacity forecasting • Database backup strategy and HA/DR configuration • SLO definition and tracking for database availability and performance • Scalable database structures, partitioning strategies, and audit specifications • Deployment and rollback scripting and coordinating version updates across environments • Python and PowerShell automation • Power BI reporting integrations • SSIS package and SSAS cube migration/support • Stored procedure development for reporting • Ability to collaborate with client technical teams and executive stakeholders • Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically in the US for client onsite visits
