📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs powering DemandTec’s AI-driven retail platform • Implement new features and optimize existing services • Review code and ensure system performance, reliability, and security • Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions • Mentor team members and contribute to architecture decisions • Support continuous integration, testing, and deployment practices • Coordinate effectively across multiple timezones

🎯 Requirements

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and software design • Proficiency in software development using Agentic engineering, including Claude Code/Codex, with experience delivering production-quality products • Product development experience rather than consulting experience • Hands-on back-end web development experience building and maintaining APIs, microservices, and databases • Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes • Expertise in RDBMS, preferably Postgres, data access technologies, performance tuning, and data modeling • Expert level in at least two of C#, Python, and Java • Expertise in frameworks including FastAPI, Pydantic.AI, Pydantic 2, Polars, Pandas, .NET Core, Spring Boot, Enterprise Beans, Hibernate, or JDBC • Comfort with modern development and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Agentic engineering, automated testing, and version control such as Git • Flexibility to work across different timezones • Strong problem-solving abilities, collaborative mindset, and clear communication skills in cross-functional teams • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or Engineering • Experience in retail, pricing, or data-intensive SaaS products is a plus
