• Act as single point of contact for specific borrowers, managing them through and/or out of the default process. • Retain accountability for borrower requests relative to the delinquency process; update default workstations and document all activity. • Engage in loss mitigation discussions and develop workout hierarchies with borrowers. • Determine available solutions in accordance with client guidelines. • Use listening and negotiation skills to maintain delinquent loans through repayment agreements. • Service delinquent mortgage loan accounts in accordance with client, investor, insurer, regulatory, federal, state, and local guidelines. • Inform borrowers of options and programs, gather necessary information, advise on program eligibility and payment-relief decisions, and explain alternatives to foreclosure. • Ensure clear, empathetic, professional verbal and written communication with borrowers and authorized third parties. • Comply with state and federal laws and DMI’s Legal and Information Protection requirements. • Collaborate with servicing support departments to identify needs, propose solutions, and deliver results while meeting deadlines. • Escalate issues through applicable channels. • Attend meetings and participate in projects. • Complete mandatory, department-specific, and annual regulatory compliance training. • Perform other related duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required. • Must be able to operate in a Windows environment. • MS Word and Excel preferred. • Excellent written and verbal customer service skills. • Ability to collaborate with various constituents. • Strong influencing skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume area. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Minimum of one year of experience in loss mitigation, foreclosure, or other default-related experience preferred. • Minimum of one year of experience in a call center environment preferred. • Must be able to complete mandatory and annual regulatory compliance training. • Must be able to work in a quiet, designated work-from-home space free from distractions and noise. • Must be able to communicate clearly and exchange accurate information through multiple communication methods. • Must be able to type and utilize a computer for long periods. • May be required to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
