📋 Description

• Lead and mentor a team of application engineers, providing technical guidance, architectural direction, code reviews, and support for complex engineering challenges • Design, develop, and maintain production-ready applications and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Data, and RESTful APIs • Apply microservices, event-driven architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-native engineering principles to build scalable and resilient applications • Lead application assessment, containerization, and migration from VM-based environments to Google Cloud Platform and Google Kubernetes Engine • Manage application configurations, secrets management, runtime readiness, and test automation • Guide application deployment and troubleshooting in Kubernetes environments, including Docker containers, CI/CD pipelines, resource configurations, and runtime issues • Develop and implement unit, integration, and API testing strategies • Design and maintain data-access layers integrating SQL and NoSQL databases • Implement observability practices including centralized logging, monitoring, metrics, distributed tracing, and alerting • Collaborate with platform engineering, DevOps, security, and architecture teams on standards, reusable solutions, and deployment best practices • Plan and coordinate engineering activities, manage technical dependencies, and guide delivery of modernization initiatives across 500+ applications • Use Claude, GitHub Copilot, and Gemini to accelerate development, modernization, testing, documentation, and engineering automation • Utilize GCP as the primary cloud platform

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology and Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field • Strong experience in application engineering, Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native architectures • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, application testing, and production troubleshooting • Experience with application modernization, VM-to-container migration, and cloud deployments • Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, application observability, and distributed systems • Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring, problem-solving, and cross-team collaboration skills • Preferred: Experience with React, Angular, or Vue and integration with RESTful APIs • Roles may include background checks, employment verification, and other relevant hiring checks
