📋 Description

• Manage an assigned portfolio of scientific contracting engagements across early phase biology, chemistry, and scientific technology business areas • Collaborate with Project Management, Scientific, Legal, and Business Operations teams to understand scope and draft, negotiate, and manage contracts • Manage a high volume of concurrent contract assignments while maintaining portfolio momentum and reprioritizing as needed • Provide contracting guidance to internal business partners on assigned agreements • Escalate complex compliance or contractual issues to team leadership with clearly framed options • Engage with project management teams regarding upcoming third-party contracting needs, scope, deliverables, timelines, and prioritization • Engage with third-party suppliers to advance contracting discussions and identify and mitigate routine risks • Partner with third-party risk management and leadership when issues fall outside standard parameters • Draft and negotiate assigned contracts, coordinating Legal and subject-matter-expert input as needed • Support business partners in the procure-to-pay process, including purchase requisition submission and invoice reconciliation • Ensure internal compliance and escalate discrepancies as appropriate • Use Lilly’s contract lifecycle management (CLM) system for contract intake, drafting, tracking, and reporting

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required • Degree in biology or a related scientific discipline preferred • Scientific literacy and/or background in a relevant biological discipline • Ability to engage credibly with research scientists in exploratory research, translational science, and large molecule biology • 3+ years of contract management experience, including procurement-facing contracting in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical setting • Ability to manage an assigned portfolio of agreements accurately and on time • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis • Experience with project management, finance, procurement, and contract lifecycle management software preferred • Familiarity with software licensing agreements, including SaaS and data platform agreements, in a life sciences or research context preferred • Fluency with AI tools and willingness to apply emerging AI and technology solutions preferred • Strong contract drafting, review, and analysis skills • Working knowledge of intellectual property, indemnification, limitation of liability, confidentiality, and payment terms • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a high volume of concurrent assignments • Commitment to proficiency with Lilly’s contract lifecycle management (CLM) system and other designated business tools • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills • MS Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
