• Ensure project activities are on track with work plans and technical expertise informs project implementation • Gather information for multifaceted and complicated project activities • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations • Monitor expenditures against budget and maintain confidentiality of project information • Ensure project completion within budget, scope, and schedule requirements • Develop and review work plans, prepare presentations, and support project objectives and deliverables • Coordinate outbreak response resources, including people, consultants, partners, travel, and procurement • Plan deliverables and lead meetings • Provide initial review and comments on programmatic reports and annual work plans • Oversee reporting processes and aggregate reporting for project oversight • Represent projects at client/funder meetings and external events • Liaise with clients regarding project planning and task completion • Serve as project point of contact with partners • Facilitate communication among projects and internal and external stakeholders • Monitor partner deliverables and project risks, informing senior managers of issues • Support outbreak response knowledge management and document approaches and achievements • Provide context and framing in project reporting • Ensure appropriate use of the project document management site • Write position descriptions, participate in staff interview panels, and serve as hiring manager as needed • Conduct new-hire onboarding on department procedures and administrative processes • Support business development, capture work, proposal narratives, budgets, and project design • Lead proposal design aspects and project-level tasks • Support subaward design and monitoring • Support project start-up, work planning, budget development, reporting, and problem-solving • Provide programmatic and financial oversight, including spending rates, subawards, deliverables, and reports • Review or approve purchase orders, expense reports, and invoices • Contribute to project budget development and interpret budgets for tracking • Serve as team lead and mentor lower-level and junior personnel
• Bachelor's Degree or its International Equivalent in Communication and Social Marketing, Economic Development, Education, Health, Nutrition, Research, Technology and Youth or a Related Fields • 6+ years of relevant experience with project management principles and practices, ideally supporting outbreak response activities/operations • Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or private organization • Advanced knowledge of project management and outbreak response concepts and practices • May have or be in the process of developing content knowledge in global health security outbreaks • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Excellent and demonstrated project management skills • Ability to influence and collaborate with others • Ability to analyze and interpret data, identify errors, and prepare reports • Project Management (PM) Certification preferred • Working knowledge of a second language, particularly French, is highly preferred • Ability to spend long hours looking at a computer screen and doing repetitive work on a keyboard • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time • Ability to lift 5–25 lbs. • Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Skype/TEAMS, e-mail), office telephone, cell phone, and printer/copier • Travel requirements of 10%–25% • All offers of employment subject to reference, criminal record, and terrorism finance checks • Applicants consent to Inter-Agency Misconduct Disclosure Scheme screening procedures
