📋 Description

• Lead and manage STRIDES Ebola outbreak preparedness, response, recovery, and transition activities • Coordinate and oversee Incident Management System structures and emergency operations functions • Serve as the primary technical and operational focal point for Ebola response implementation • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to response teams, government counterparts, and implementing partners • Facilitate daily incident management meetings, situation reviews, and operational planning sessions • Align response activities with national and international Ebola protocols and guidelines • Coordinate surge staffing, deployment planning, and cross-functional response activities • Monitor epidemiological trends and review surveillance reports to guide operational decisions • Provide technical direction, guidance, mentorship, and capacity building to project staff and partners • Maintain project protocols, instruments, datasets, manuals, training materials, and reports • Develop technical briefs, reports, proposals, budgets, work plans, presentations, and other materials • Analyze project implementation and propose technical strategies and improvement guidelines • Support transition from emergency response to recovery and resilience-building • Develop and monitor technical work plans, budgets, objectives, and performance indicators • Produce situation reports, technical updates, donor reports, executive briefings, and lessons-learned reports • Maintain incident documentation and records • Monitor deliverables, timelines, expenditures, budgets, and resource utilization • Coordinate procurement and deployment of PPE, laboratory supplies, commodities, equipment, and emergency materials • Represent FHI 360 in national and sub-national Ebola coordination mechanisms • Collaborate with Ministries of Health, UN agencies, NGOs, donor representatives, partners, and clients • Participate in technical working groups, emergency coordination meetings, client/funder meetings, and business development activities • Support proposal and project design, budgeting, recruitment, partner/sub-award management, and client technical matters • Ensure technical quality, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational strategy and SOPs • May supervise junior staff and manage centralized functional activities • Travel and potentially deploy to outbreak-affected areas

🎯 Requirements

• Master's Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Global Health, Infectious Diseases, Emergency Management, Medicine, Nursing, Health Sciences, or a related field • Minimum 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in public health emergency management, infectious disease outbreak response, or humanitarian health programs • Minimum 3–5 years of leadership experience managing large-scale outbreak responses • Demonstrated experience supporting Ebola, VHFs, or other infectious disease emergency responses • Experience working with Ministries of Health, WHO, CDC, NGOs, and donor-funded programs • Documented experience providing technical assistance, capacity building, and business development in the specific technical domain • Prior work experience in an NGO, government agency, or private organization • Advanced knowledge of viral hemorrhagic fever epidemiology, especially Ebola, and VHF prevention and control tactics • Strong understanding of Incident Management Systems, Emergency Operations Centers, and public health emergency management principles • Experience in outbreak investigation, surveillance, contact tracing, and emergency coordination • Knowledge of WHO, CDC, and Ministry of Health Ebola response frameworks and standards • Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams in complex emergency environments • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills • Experience with humanitarian coordination mechanisms and stakeholder engagement • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work effectively under pressure during rapidly evolving emergencies • Ability to manage projects, set priorities, and plan successful implementation • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English • Ability to travel, including deployment to outbreak-affected areas • Project Management Certification preferred • Specialized training in Ebola preparedness and response strongly preferred • International or field-based emergency response experience preferred • International or domestic US program development or program management preferred • Microsoft Office 365 and data management platform proficiency • Successful completion of applicable screening checks and consent to recruitment procedures
