• Assess and centralize CI/CD and deployment practices across product lines and own the rollout • Contribute hands-on to containerization and deployment automation • Improve deployment frequency, predictability, environment consistency, and release safety • Establish SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and production reliability standards • Own standardized monitoring, alerting, observability patterns, and dashboards • Partner with development teams on consistent instrumentation • Own company-wide on-call tooling, rotation design, and escalation policy • Define and enforce RCA and post-incident review discipline, using AI to accelerate investigations • Build adopted operational practices across teams through influence without authority • Own reliability of core production databases, including uptime, query performance, and capacity • Define schema-change governance and review discipline for a monolithic, high-traffic database • Partner with Infrastructure on backup, continuity, and BCDR runbooks and testing • Define operational metrics and build dashboards and reporting for engineering and executive leadership • Formalize an AI natural-language query layer for observability data • Partner on shared component libraries, frontend build tooling, and design-system/API contracts • Sponsor a dotted-line Frontend Guild • Identify cross-product structural patterns and architectural drift and drive improvements • Influence cross-cutting platform architecture without owning product or feature architecture • Build the function’s structure and hiring plan from the ground up • Establish the team’s operating rhythm, including on-call, incident reviews, and roadmap planning • Report to the SVP of Engineering and represent platform reliability and operational maturity to the ELT
• Experience modernizing CI/CD and deployment pipelines at scale • Formal SRE experience, including SLOs, observability/alerting tooling, and incident management • Experience designing on-call and incident-management programs, such as PagerDuty or equivalent, and enforcing RCA practices • Database reliability and operations experience covering schema governance, query optimization, backup, and BCDR for a high-traffic production database, or direct management of someone with that experience • Vertical SaaS, regulated, or mission-critical software experience is a plus • Public safety experience is an advantage • Executive presence to discuss reliability, risk, and operational maturity with the ELT in business terms • Hands-on willingness to work in the pipeline, dashboard, or incident channel • Authorization to work for any US employer in the United States • No employment visa sponsorship or sponsorship-transition support available • Successful completion of a criminal background check • Must complete I-9 employment authorization verification through E-Verify
