• Support the Administrative Office of the US Courts Mission Support Systems Division in a mission-critical application used by the federal courts community • Work within an Agile solution development environment with daily scrums, biweekly sprint planning, and quarterly Program Increment planning • Develop operating standards and best practices for performance, security, scalability, and maintainability • Define, control, and coordinate data elements and standards, and facilitate efficient data relationships, systems integration, and physical structure • Develop and implement database management policies and standards for quality control and data administration • Collaborate with Product Owners, users, agency leaders, stakeholders, consultants, and program/agency personnel to gather requirements and develop data analysis techniques • Document complex workflow designs for project teams and stakeholders • Analyze complex problems and contribute to business strategies, ideas, and methods within the Agile framework • Collect, analyze, and interpret large amounts of data to guide business decisions • Apply advanced statistical analysis, data mining, and predictive modeling techniques • Synthesize information and identify patterns and relationships across data sources • Develop data visualizations tracking KPIs and other critical program metrics • Host and conduct peer reviews of other developers' code • Perform data validation and ensure data accuracy and integrity • Develop stored procedures, jobs, views, tables, and other database objects in SQL Server Management Studio • Design and develop dimensional data models, including star and snowflake schemas, fact and dimension tables, and enterprise data marts • Develop and deploy ETL packages using CI/CD pipelines • Use configuration management systems for version control • Work with the Atlassian Suite of software development management tools • Index system and application logs in Splunk and create dashboards, alerts, and reports
• At least seven (7+) years of Server database maintenance and database analysis or similar role • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering or relevant computer-based major; experience may be considered in lieu of degree • Database or cloud certification preferred, such as Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator Associate or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert • Proficient experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Informix, and Oracle • Experience installing, configuring, and administering database environments • Understanding of standard data warehouse concepts • Experience with data modeling, data mapping, data flow diagrams, and data marts • Experience architecting and implementing cloud-based database solutions • Experience migrating legacy on-premises databases to multi-cloud/hybrid cloud platforms • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills • Excellent organization and time management skills • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Ability to work with people at every level • Comfortable writing ideas, implementation plans, and status reports • Preferred: experience with Snowflake and cloud platforms, especially Azure • Preferred: experience creating and managing database reports, visualizations, and dashboards • Preferred: knowledge of court operations and law enforcement business data • US citizenship is not required • No security clearance is required
