📋 Description

• Lead and develop a project team responsible for design, integration, and testing on Grid Automation projects • Define, plan, and implement SCADA, Substation Automation, Integrated Energy Management Solutions, Substation Networks, cybersecurity solutions, and associated site services • Manage the engineering team, define team strategy, and establish key performance indicators • Maintain high standards in project engineering, efficiency, and on-time delivery • Track and manage resource utilization with the Project Management Office • Develop Substation Automation Services offerings • Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team across System Design, Integration, and Testing • Define and execute the vision and operating model for the Digital Control System Engineering organization • Drive technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement • Lead EHS/Safety actions and performance and ensure compliance with GE rules and processes • Ensure consistent, high-quality engineering deliverables and technical compliance • Analyze and optimize automation portfolio options including DS Agile, IEMS, G500, GPG, and D20 • Support bids and project execution by defining system-level concepts and integration strategies • Collaborate with global engineering teams, project management, and supply chain on system integration and handover to commissioning • Drive design standardization, digital engineering tools, and best practices across the DCS domain • Build succession and competency development plans • Promote talent growth through coaching, technical training, and cross-project exposure • Attract and retain high-performing engineers • Qualify and develop external resource contractors • Partner with NPI, Tendering, and Regional Commercial teams on technical strategy and resource deployment • Provide tender estimations and post-delivery project feedback • Represent Digital Control System Engineering in technical forums, customer meetings, and audits

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering degree from an accredited university or college • 8 years in electricity and automation engineering, including distribution automation, substation digitization, diagnostics, APM, device management, and cybersecurity • 3 years designing and programming electrical control systems, including SCADA/HMI, IEC 61850, firewalls, cybersecurity, and networking • 5 years managing engineering teams • Fully fluent in English • Willingness to travel 30% in the US and Canada • Knowledge of cyber asset protection regulations affecting the utilities industry, including NERC CIP and NIST • Knowledge of network communication protocols including Modbus, OPC (DA, AE, UA), DNP3, and IEC 61850 • Experience with smart grid technologies and renewable energy integration • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable • Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred • Professional Engineering License preferred • Previous work experience in a multicultural environment preferred
