📋 Description

• Support the breach-of-warranty (Lemon Law) legal process in California • Serve as GM’s technical expert and PMK/PMQ in pending California breach-of-warranty matters • Own the technical inspection and expert-testimony process • Work with local counsel and GM Legal to evaluate cases, prepare testimony, and align strategy • Evaluate cases on technical merit • Perform vehicle inspections and review repair histories and supporting documentation • Support discovery and filing, including declarations and review of TSBs, field actions, and engineering documents • Prepare for and participate in depositions, arbitrations, and trials • Act as GM’s corporate representative when designated by counsel • Maintain compliance with litigation hold, information lifecycle management, and data privacy requirements • Improve case-evaluation criteria, documentation standards, and testimony preparation practices • Develop and maintain playbooks, job aids, and training materials • Train and support Service Zone and Field Engineering teams • Participate in California Lemon Law seminars and industry/legal training • Support favorable case outcomes through timely evaluation, accurate inspections, and credible testimony • Meet service-level expectations for case review, documentation, and inspection turnaround • Report to the Regional Litigation Manager and partner with GM Legal and external counsel

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of dealership or OEM automotive technician experience; GM experience strongly preferred • Up to 75% travel within California for vehicle inspections, court appearances, and counsel meetings • Deep understanding of OEM service policies, warranty administration processes, and California Lemon Law legislation • Experience reviewing and interpreting repair order histories, technical service bulletins, field actions, and internal engineering documentation • Comfort testifying in depositions, arbitrations, and trials and serving as a PMK/PMQ or corporate representative • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Analytical ability to resolve complex technical and documentation challenges in a legal context • Strong interpersonal, planning, organizational, and computer skills • Proficiency with common office and documentation tools • ASE Master Certification • OEM Automotive Certification • Bachelor’s degree in business, automotive technology, engineering, or related field preferred • Experience as an OEM Field Service Engineer preferred • Experience as a corporate representative for Lemon Law or breach-of-warranty matters preferred • Experience supporting in-house legal departments or outside counsel on automotive litigation preferred • Must reside within 100 miles of the Western Regional Office in Westlake Village, California • Must be legally authorized to work without GM immigration-related sponsorship now or in the future • Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle regularly and successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Report review • Willingness to relocate to an approved city within the assigned territory, if not already residing there
