📋 Description

• Own and execute strategic account plans for traditional Defense Primes • Build and maintain relationships with Defense Prime executives, business-unit leaders, program managers, capture leaders, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and procurement stakeholders • Identify, qualify, and shape new business opportunities across manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain support • Lead opportunity development through early gates using the “Real, Win, Worth” framework • Develop integrated program plans and business cases covering scope, requirements, solution approach, milestones, resources, investment, risks, dependencies, pricing inputs, returns, and decision points • Translate customer and program requirements into internal workstreams with owners, timelines, deliverables, and escalation paths • Lead a small team of account, business development, and program professionals • Mobilize and lead cross-functional teams across strategy, business development, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, finance, legal, contracts, security, and operations • Brief senior GM Defense and executive stakeholders on account health, opportunity status, plans, business cases, risks, and recommended actions • Prepare executive materials and customer-facing content, including account reviews, gate packages, capture strategies, program plans, and business cases • Establish operating rhythms for account reviews, opportunity tracking, customer engagement, action-item closure, risk management, and escalation • Align Defense Prime engagement with Department of War priorities, acquisition timelines, budgeting processes, contracting strategies, and industrial-base objectives • Represent GM Defense in customer meetings, industry engagements, program reviews, and partner discussions • Improve standard work, decision processes, information flow, cross-functional alignment, and repeatable defense-prime growth practices • Protect sensitive company, customer, and program information • Report to the Vice President, Strategy and Transformation • Travel frequently, at least 50%, including worldwide travel and visits to Washington, DC, Warren, Milford, Michigan, and customer locations

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required • 7+ years of relevant experience • Proven ability to develop and manage senior customer relationships and convert them into qualified, executable business opportunities • Strong program management skills integrating scope, schedule, resources, risks, dependencies, financial considerations, and cross-functional deliverables • Experience leading cross-functional teams and directing a small team in a matrixed, fast-paced environment • Exceptional organizational effectiveness, prioritization, and follow-through • Strong executive communication skills, including briefing senior leaders and influencing without authority • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with distributed teams • Must be a U.S. Person: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee, or refugee • U.S. citizenship required for federal government contract compliance • Eligible to obtain Secret U.S. Security Clearance after hire • Willingness and ability to travel as required • Preferred: 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in business development, capture, program management, account management, strategy, or related discipline • Preferred: advanced degree, including a master’s degree in business administration, engineering, operations, national security, public policy, or related field • Preferred: active Secret U.S. Security Clearance as of the first day of work • No immigration-related sponsorship available • Must be able to travel at least 50% or more on a frequent basis • Position subject to export control restrictions
