📋 Description

• Own features end-to-end across the Next.js frontend, NestJS backend, and Python AI services • Define component patterns and UI interaction models for AI-native, agent-driven, conversational experiences • Partner with product and design to take features from prototype to production • Build and maintain the integration layer between the user-facing product and Civic Agent Platform • Own contracts, data shapes, and API boundaries connecting user interfaces to agent computations • Contribute to eval pipelines, golden datasets, and CI gates for user-facing AI features • Turn recurring problems and slowdowns into shared infrastructure, reusable patterns, stronger tooling, and improved development practices • Lead technical conversations across the stack, including infrastructure, deployment, and observability tradeoffs • Report to the CTO and partner with the Principal Engineer and squad Tech Leads

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience • At least 3 years at Staff level or equivalent scope owning full stack product delivery • Full-stack proficiency with Next.js/React • Full-stack proficiency with NestJS/TypeScript • Practical use of AI-native coding approaches, including Claude Code, Cursor, and MCPs • Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, especially AWS • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools • Production experience shipping LLM-powered features as a full stack engineer • Understanding of agentic-system UI challenges, including latency, streaming, uncertainty, and failure states • Familiarity with agent patterns such as Claude Agent SDK, OpenAI tool use, LangChain, or equivalent • Experience contributing to eval pipelines, golden datasets, or CI quality gates for LLM features • Experience designing for content safety and output quality • Ability to work in a remote, fast-paced environment • Must be physically located in the United States • Must be authorized to work in the United States • No visa sponsorship available
