📋 Description

• Serve as lead negotiator on the company’s most complex, highest-value, and strategically significant agreements • Draft, review, negotiate, and execute contracts across clinical, development, manufacturing, commercial, and corporate activities • Define, own, and continuously improve the end-to-end contract lifecycle • Establish the multi-year contracting roadmap, standards, thresholds, and target operating model • Provide practical legal guidance and decisive recommendations based on business objectives and risk • Support clinical trial start-up and execution, including clinical sites, investigators, informed consent, data privacy, study vendors, and clinical study agreements • Partner with Compliance to ensure templates, standard terms, playbooks, fallback positions, and agreements reflect legal and regulatory requirements • Support vendor selection and pre-contract risk assessment with Procurement, Finance, Compliance, IT, and business owners • Leverage AI and legal technology to improve contracting and Legal operations

🎯 Requirements

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school • Active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar • 5+ years of relevant legal experience gained in-house, at a law firm, or through a combination of both • Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or another regulated life sciences environment is strongly preferred • Expert-level experience drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements • Clinical-development contracting experience highly valued • Ability to assess legal risk in the context of business objectives and provide practical, decisive recommendations • Proficiency with AI tools and interest in using emerging technology responsibly • Track record of building and/or maintaining a contracting function or operating model, including templates, playbooks, policy, and governance • Ability to meet the stated physical and mental requirements, including regular computer/device use, clear communication, occasional movement, screen work, hand coordination, and focus
