• Lead the overall performance of the MSL team through effective leadership, coaching, and management • Set business objectives and priorities to deliver Medical Affairs plans and metrics • Drive ongoing capability development of MSL team members • Set team vision and expectations and promote continuous improvement • Develop strategies, processes, and capabilities that optimize scientific engagement with external experts • Ensure consolidated medical insights are shared appropriately across the business and represent external experts and patients • Integrate the MSL team within Medical Affairs and collaborate with cross-functional business partners • Align ways of working between Sales and MSL teams with sales leadership • Prioritize MSL work and resources, including operational budgets and staffing levels • Recruit talent and facilitate onboarding of new starters • Ensure MSL team compliance with GSK standards, policies, local codes of practice, guidelines, and laws
• Accredited advanced degree in a life-science or basic-science discipline (MS, PA, MSN) • Six or more years of experience in an MSL organization • Two or more years of experience in Hepatology • Doctoral degree preferred (Pharm.D., D.Sc., D.N.P., Ph.D., or M.D./D.O.) • Strong coaching, leadership, and people-management skills • Effective communication skills at all business levels • Strong business mindset and ability to balance cross-functional objectives • Leadership experience in a matrix environment • Demonstrated cross-functional working to drive business-focused outcomes • Networking and collaboration skills • Understanding of clinical development and statistical design and analysis • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
