📋 Description

• Oversee day-to-day productivity of direct reports and monitor reports to ensure Loss Mitigation department efficiency • Set objectives and assign work/projects related to areas of expertise and supervision • Monitor metrics and maximize productivity, efficiency, investor compliance, and service levels • Hire, train, coach, discipline, and exit team members • Perform quality control and audit reviews on loans, including income/expense calculations • Coach and guide reports on FHA-insured loan workouts and review underwriting modifications and account reconciliation • Review denied cases and recommend feasible alternatives • Analyze escalated accounts for compliance and exceptions to modification program guidelines • Participate in calls with clients and homeowners regarding loss mitigation topics • Provide weekly productivity reports and status updates and remediate action items • Respond to internal and external audit findings and ensure issue remediation • Manage inventory in accordance with regulations and guidelines • Develop and deliver training on investor rules, regulations, compliance, policies, guidelines, and best practices • Manage department projects involving process improvements, new processes, and skills training • Interact professionally with consumers by phone, email, or letter • Review FHA Waterfall Calculations and verify appropriate home-retention options • Manage and control the loss mitigation general ledger and reconcile title policy invoice payments • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma and some college, technical training, or equivalent required • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field preferred • Seven or more years of total mortgage default, loss mitigation, and short sale experience • At least two years of experience in a supervisory/lead role • Expert-level knowledge of conventional and government mortgage loan documents, processes, standards, terminology, compliance, and regulatory requirements • Knowledge of federal debt collection laws and Federal Bankruptcy Laws • Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures, CFPB, FCRA, and FDCPA preferred • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills • Highly organized and detail oriented • Ability to work in a fast-paced, department-metrics-driven environment • Advanced math skills • Proficiency with internet searches, data entry, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Familiarity with document retention software; Blitzdoc preferred • 10-key by touch strongly preferred • Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to train less experienced team members and build capability • Ability to supervise 3–5 Loss Mitigation Specialists • Ability to work primarily sedentary with frequent computer keyboard and mouse use • Ability to accurately interpret visual and audio information • Ability to work in an office environment without substantial exposure to adverse conditions
