📋 Description

• Administer, patch, upgrade, and tune Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers hosting the Epicor Eclipse/UniVerse environment • Automate provisioning, patching, and configuration management with Red Hat Satellite, Bash, Ansible, and scripts • Administer Rocket UniVerse MultiValue database instances, including accounts, files, sizing, hashing, locks, configuration, and shared-memory parameters • Perform backups, transaction logging, point-in-time recovery, and restore validation • Monitor sessions, locks, host resources, database performance, and replication health • Investigate data issues using RetrieVe/UniQuery and UniVerse BASIC • Maintain UniVerse licensing, TLS transport encryption, and data-at-rest encryption • Own and monitor Epicor Eclipse SQL Replication into the SQL Server data warehouse • Manage mapping and transformation of nested MultiValue fields into relational rows and columns • Administer the Information Control Engine integration for dashboards and BI • Maintain SQL Server warehouse schemas, indexes, SQL Agent jobs, and storage • Support Power BI, SSRS, and Excel reporting connections • Detect replication failures, resynchronize or backfill gaps, and verify data integrity • Design and test backup, disaster-recovery, failover, and high-availability strategies across RHEL, UniVerse, Eclipse, and SQL Server • Harden and patch RHEL, remediate vulnerabilities, enforce least privilege, audit logging, and change management • Create runbooks, SOPs, architecture diagrams, knowledge-base articles, and operational automation • Partner with Infrastructure, Applications & Support, Networking, Cyber, and business teams • Mentor junior administrators and participate in a shared on-call rotation

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience • 7+ years of progressive systems administration experience, including senior-level ownership of production environments • Deep, hands-on Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration experience, including installation, patching, performance tuning, storage, networking, and security • Hands-on experience administering Rocket UniVerse or UniData (U2), or another Pick-based MultiValue database • Working knowledge of Epicor Eclipse ERP or a comparable MultiValue-based distribution ERP • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and data replication / ETL concepts • Proficiency in Bash scripting and Ansible automation • Virtualization experience with VMware and enterprise storage experience with SAN/NAS • Direct experience with Epicor Eclipse SQL Replication and the Information Control Engine (ICE) • Reporting/BI integration experience with Power BI, SSRS, and Excel against a replicated SQL data warehouse • Experience in wholesale distribution or another multi-site, high-transaction environment • Familiarity with UniVerse BASIC and ability to read and adjust existing MultiValue code • Experience coordinating vendor support relationships with Epicor, Rocket Software, and VARs • Experience with Rubrik Data Protection and Zerto Continuous Data Protection • Availability for after-hours maintenance windows and shared on-call support • Preferred certifications: RHCSA and/or RHCE, Rocket U2 training or certification, and Microsoft SQL Server certification • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and results-oriented abilities
