📋 Description

• Perform routine design of less complex engineering assignments for DCS/PLC/HMI/SIS systems • Assist with larger and more complex automation and controls engineering assignments or lead smaller automation projects • Recognize and communicate scope and design changes promptly • Provide on-site assistance during startup • Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineering personnel • Coordinate work activities with staff members and C&A Office Leaders • Produce control system installation specifications • Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies for small projects • Configure control systems with emphasis on ease of maintenance and meeting client expectations • Consult with design leaders from other disciplines to support scheduled project completion • Review and check vendor and discipline drawings for Controls & Automation input • Perform fieldwork to gather field data and retrieve existing control system configuration

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university is required • Engineer in Training (EIT) registration is required • Professional Engineering (PE) registration is preferred upon eligibility • Minimum 1 year of relevant industrial experience in controls and automation engineering • Ability to understand and implement the current version of ISA S88 programming standards • Ability to understand and implement the current version of IEC 61131 programming languages and standards • Ability to understand and implement the current version of ISA S84 programming standards • Ability to understand and implement the current version of OSHA 1910.119 Management of Change • Experience with two or more of DCS, PLC, HMI, or SIS systems, or extensive knowledge of at least one listed system • Ability to create accurate controls hardware installation documents from vendor equipment drawings • Ability to read and interpret PFDs, P&IDs, and instrument loop sheets • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols, media, and equipment • Ability to troubleshoot I/O problems in the field using a multimeter • Ability to troubleshoot software problems in the field • Ability to troubleshoot networking problems in the field using common isolation techniques • Knowledge and application of at least one listed operating system in support of control system installation • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook • Good verbal and written communication skills • Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks • Forecasting hours to complete professional services • Developing design criteria and scope of work • Excellent virtual team skills and cross-divisional relationships • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time • Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States
