📋 Description

• Direct and ensure efficient administration and management of Human Resources at assigned hotels within the portfolio and transitioning to HEI management • Provide guidance and counseling to General Managers, management staff, and associates • Assist with recruitment, training and development, payroll, and associate relations activities • Direct recruiting and interviewing techniques and conduct interviews for management positions • Ensure completion of reference checks, background checks, and employment eligibility verifications • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations • Implement and communicate new Human Resources requirements • Oversee compliance with the Affirmative Action Plan • Direct associate recognition, service award ceremonies, social functions, and hotel meetings • Monitor performance appraisal programs and verify measurable, achievable goals • Administer wages and benefits accurately and equitably • Coordinate transition activities, including interviews, offer letters, events, materials, benefits presentations, and HR training schedules • Oversee onboarding and payroll training at newly acquired properties • Manage labor relations, administer union contracts, respond to grievances, negotiate settlements, and represent hotels at arbitrations where applicable • Cover vacancies or leaves of absence, onboard new HR professionals, and support hotel transitions • Perform other related duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field or HR certification is helpful • Previous hotel experience as a Human Resources Manager or Director required • Experience processing payroll required • Thorough knowledge of Human Resources practices and procedures • Considerable knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations pertaining to Human Resources matters • Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and ensure accomplishment of goals • Ability to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate • Basic mathematical skills for salary and benefit administration and departmental expense forecasting • Ability to prepare correspondence and meet deadlines • Ability to prepare office memoranda and correspondence and provide clear instructions, guidance, and counseling • Ability to observe associates, analyze operations, and detect concerns regarding performance, grooming, training, policy adherence, and morale • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines • Ability to stand, walk, and sit and continuously perform essential functions during an eight-plus-hour shift, with or without reasonable accommodation • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences • Travel required up to 100% of the time
