📋 Description

• Own AI products from initial concept through MVP, pilot, and production readiness • Define product and technical approaches and make pragmatic scope decisions • Build and launch proofs of concept and working MVPs rapidly • Use feedback, experimentation, and real-world usage data to validate assumptions and improve product capabilities • Collaborate with product managers, designers, clinicians, and data stakeholders to translate care delivery workflows into AI features • Make and communicate architecture and technology decisions while balancing speed, scalability, maintainability, and operational risk • Establish lightweight engineering practices that enable rapid delivery without compromising quality • Ensure AI systems comply with HIPAA and Humana’s Responsible AI standards • Participate in AIRB and Responsible AI Council review processes where applicable • Standardize software quality assurance procedures • Oversee testing and debugging and develop fixes • Research complaints and recommend adjustments to resolve complex software issues • Advise executives on functional strategies • Work under minimal supervision using independent judgment on complex issues

🎯 Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience • 8+ years of software engineering experience • Deep, hands-on experience with large language models and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex • Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript, and modern ML tooling such as Hugging Face or PyTorch • Experience designing and deploying RAG pipelines and vector search systems in production • Working knowledge of model fine-tuning approaches including LoRA, RLHF, or instruction tuning • Experience designing and building multi-agent AI systems, including agent orchestration, tool use, and sandboxed execution environments • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of complex AI systems from architecture through production operation • Understanding of HIPAA requirements and secure handling of protected health information (PHI) • Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and LLM coding harnesses such as Claude Code, Pi Agent, Cursor, or Codex • Experience collaborating with Product Management to shape product direction, gather requirements, and lead scalable, customer-focused applications • Experience rapidly building prototypes using agent coding harnesses • Dedicated work space without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information • Home internet with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed • Preferred: Experience in healthcare, clinical informatics, or highly regulated industries • Preferred: Experience designing and implementing custom LLM and agent evaluation frameworks • Preferred: Exposure to clinical NLP, medical coding, or EHR/FHIR data standards • Preferred: Experience operating AI systems at scale on AWS, Azure, or GCP
