📋 Description

• Analyze complex business problems or opportunities and prepare detailed specifications and project-level estimates • Evaluate solution options and make buy-versus-build recommendations to management • Communicate effectively with business and IS partners through verbal, written, electronic communication, and presentations • Create unit test plans and review junior staff members’ plans • Analyze application and system problems and incidents; develop, implement, and communicate solutions and impacts • Identify, communicate, and implement departmental best practices • Build business literacy and understanding of business processes within the IS organization • Provide application and code expertise to development, testing, and business teams • Coordinate vendor solution delivery and partner with vendors to meet business needs and timelines • Provide direction and assistance to junior staff members • Design, develop, test, and implement complex AMISYS solutions supporting healthcare payer technology initiatives • Collaborate with business, IT, vendor partners, business analysts, testers, architects, and junior developers • Support testing cycles, defect remediation, deployment readiness, and production support

🎯 Requirements

• 5–7 years of AMISYS development experience, preferably within a healthcare payer or managed care environment • Hands-on experience developing and supporting AMISYS or AMISYS Advance solutions across healthcare payer functions • Strong experience with AMISYS claims processing, claims interfaces, claims conversions, pre-adjudication edits, and EDI 837 inbound transactions • Experience working with AMISYS Advance or related AMISYS integrated solutions • Strong technical communication skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications, data mapping documents, interface designs, and development-ready requirements • Experience troubleshooting complex AMISYS application, interface, transaction, batch, and data issues • Experience managing technical deliverables independently • Experience developing, reviewing, and executing unit test plans, integration test scenarios, and validation activities • Working knowledge of healthcare payer transaction standards and data flows, including EDI 837 claims transactions, eligibility, claims interfaces, claims conversions, pre-adjudication edits, and downstream system integrations • Experience with software development tools, such as Rational • Experience applying testing methodologies within major development languages • Experience with at least one major database system, such as DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or Teradata • Significant experience with at least one development language or platform commonly used in AMISYS environments, such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, Delphi/Object Pascal, Java, or similar technologies • Experience partnering with vendors • Ability to apply sound judgment in complex or difficult situations • Strong relationship management skills • Ability to manage and/or participate in projects while meeting timelines and quality expectations • Self-directed with proven initiative and accountability • Strong problem-solving skills and continuous learning focus • Ability to conduct interviews or discovery sessions focused on fact-finding and requirements gathering • Ability to analyze factual data and develop clear, well-supported conclusions • Process- and logic-oriented approach • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or mathematics, or an associate degree in computer science • U.S. Citizenship required • Must be able to work as a W2 hourly contract employee; H-1B, C2C, and 1099 candidates are not considered
