📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and develop Design Leads and technical staff • Establish performance expectations and accountability measures for design teams • Facilitate staff development, technical growth, and succession planning • Support recruiting, onboarding, and retention of design personnel • Manage day-to-day personnel administration of direct reports, including timekeeping, expense approvals, performance evaluations, and employee development • Coordinate and balance workload across Design Leads and technical teams • Assign design resources based on project needs, capabilities, and development objectives • Monitor utilization and address workload imbalances • Forecast staffing needs and identify resource constraints with Project Managers • Develop, maintain, and improve design standards, procedures, and best practices • Ensure application of CAD, BIM, engineering, and design standards • Lead implementation of technical tools, templates, and standard processes • Serve as technical authority for design execution and delivery practices • Own and maintain the design quality control program • Establish and enforce QC review procedures and documentation requirements • Conduct audits of project deliverables and ensure milestone design reviews • Track quality metrics, lessons learned, and corrective actions • Partner with Project Managers on project execution and provide technical oversight on complex or high-risk projects • Resolve technical challenges and design conflicts • Support proposal development, staffing plans, and project execution strategies • Ensure deliverables align with client requirements, contracts, and regulatory standards
