• Analyze complex operational problems with clients across the School and recommend practical, sustainable solutions • Prepare requirements, specifications, and plans for development and implementation • Design, build, enhance, and maintain technology solutions for the College, Graduate Division, LPS, Dean’s Office, Faculty Affairs, and Office of Advancement • Develop custom web applications, data-driven and self-service tools, automated workflows, and solutions using configurable, vendor-provided, and low-code platforms • Develop and maintain data pipelines, reporting, data visualizations, and self-service tools • Extract, transform, and integrate data from student, admissions, instruction, enrollment, employment, survey, development, and alumni relations systems • Develop automated solutions supporting governance, program review, and institutional reporting • Administer, support, enhance, and troubleshoot internally developed applications and vendor-provided platforms • Configure systems and maintain integrations with institutional data sources • Coordinate with vendors and University partners, including Information Systems and Computing • Resolve operational issues and identify opportunities to improve, modernize, and streamline services • Maintain working knowledge of IRAD-supported applications, data, reporting, and services for backup coverage and continuity • Document applications, data processes, technical decisions, and operational procedures • Ensure appropriate use of University data and adherence to security, privacy, and data governance standards
• Bachelor’s Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience • Progressively responsible experience developing and supporting data-driven applications, databases, reporting, or other enterprise technology solutions • Ability to analyze complex operational problems and work directly with non-technical stakeholders • Ability to translate business needs into practical technical solutions • Strong experience with relational databases and complex SQL • Experience developing web applications using PHP or comparable server-side technologies • Experience with reporting and analytics solutions, data integrations, or automated workflows • Experience extracting, transforming, and integrating data from diverse sources across multiple systems and technologies • Strong communication, customer service, collaboration, project planning, and organizational skills • Ability to independently investigate unfamiliar systems and technologies, decompose complex problems, evaluate approaches, and develop sustainable solutions • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple projects and build effective relationships • Occasional weekend and/or evening hours based on business needs • Cover letter and resume required for consideration • Background checks may be required after a conditional job offer • Preferred: knowledge of Oracle, MySQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Application Express (APEX) or similar low-code platforms, JavaScript and modern web frameworks, Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik • Preferred: experience administering, configuring, integrating, or supporting vendor-provided or configurable enterprise platforms • Preferred: familiarity with Penn’s Snowflake-based Data Warehouse and higher education experience
