• Serve as lead architect and development manager for complex rack-level solutions across mechanical, electrical, power, thermal, networking, and software integration domains • Lead customer-facing technical engagements from RFI/RFQ through first hardware delivery • Translate evolving customer requirements into program frameworks aligned with engineering execution • Manage customer expectations and address technical and cost-related risks • Drive cross-functional alignment across executives, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and program teams • Own rack-level architecture including power distribution, air and liquid cooling, cable routing, serviceability, and manufacturability • Provide technical guidance on PDUs, busbars, CDUs, manifolds, QDs, airflow design, and high-density compute integration • Oversee architecture decisions affecting performance, cost, scalability, and deployment efficiency • Drive program execution from concept through production, including milestones, schedules, risks, and accountability • Support readiness from NPI scoping through prototyping and mass production • Refine designs with customers and stakeholders based on deployment feedback and operational learnings • Collaborate with compliance and certification teams on global regulatory requirements • Mentor engineers and establish rack architecture and integration best practices • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for mechanical failures and field issues
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field is required • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering, systems integration, or data center hardware design • Minimum of 3 years’ rack-level (L11) solution design and integration experience • Minimum of 3 years’ switch/server (L10) experience with compute, storage, or networking hardware integration • Experience developing complex rack solutions for hyperscale or large-scale data center environments • Experience managing 12–18 month lifecycles and portfolios valued at hundreds of millions of dollars • Familiarity with EIA, ORV3, and OCP standards and global power architectures • Experience working directly with customers in technically and commercially sensitive environments • Strong program execution background, including schedule ownership, risk management, and cross-functional leadership • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, integration strategies, and program management • Hands-on experience with prototype fabrication and testing, including mechanical S&V, software burn-in, and test validation • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills • Ability to assess projects, articulate risks, and develop milestones • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight • Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural guides • Ability to present information and respond to management, clients, and public queries • Ability to influence others and share best practices • Familiarity with stage-gate processes in PLM • Ability to coach and mentor less experienced engineers • Demonstrated success leading in highly matrixed environments without direct reporting authority • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% • Preferred: Master’s degree, liquid-cooled rack deployment experience, CAD and FEA proficiency, global supplier and contract manufacturer experience, fluid dynamics and glycol-system knowledge, and rack compliance and validation experience
