JHU EEHPC is the Energy Efficient High Performance Computing Lab at Johns Hopkins University, led by Tinoosh Mohsenin. The lab focuses on designing medical, health, and wearable devices and developing tiny, energy-efficient wearable and mobile computing systems through cross-layer approaches spanning algorithms, architecture, hardware, and system integration. It applies high-performance computing and artificial intelligence methods to smart health monitoring, robotics, autonomous navigation, and related domains, aiming to revolutionize healthcare, transportation, and public utilities.

📋 Description

• Create, implement, maintain, monitor, support, and document departmental and enterprise-wide application systems • Install, modify, and test applications, operating systems, file structures, hardware, communication devices, and productivity tools • Gather and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications and designs • Produce deliverables based on functional specifications and designs • Maintain databases and application system code • Manage the full life cycle of large, long-term, highly complex projects and multiple projects of varying complexity • Develop broad-based solutions involving multifaceted technologies and business processes • Lead strategy, design, and architecture for solutions • Define complex business, clinical, and education problems through client meetings and document findings • Gather complex system requirements and research existing technology • Develop project plans, tasks, milestones, specifications, data structures, algorithms, and outputs • Direct, review, monitor, and mentor lower-level and junior staff • Document code and associated processes • Create, document, and execute complex test scenarios • Author and maintain technical and end-user documentation • Implement changes according to change management policies and procedures • Monitor changes, resolve complex technical problems, and provide application support • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in computer science, computer information systems, information technology, electronic engineering, or a related field • Six years of related experience with computer systems and applications • Additional education may substitute for required experience under the JHU equivalency formula • Experience working with Microsoft Fabric or similar cloud-based analytics and data engineering platforms • Experience designing and maintaining data pipelines in cloud environments • Experience developing and maintaining Python-based data engineering solutions • Familiarity with DevOps methodologies, version control systems, and CI/CD deployment practices • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions • Knowledge of modern data lake, lakehouse, and data warehouse architectures • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and related data services • Understanding of data governance, security, and data lifecycle management principles • Successful candidates subject to a pre-employment background check
