• Provide environmental and safety support to the FAA’s Environmental Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) programs • Support programs including IAQ, asbestos, lead, PCBs, chemical/hazardous waste, pesticides, drinking water, fuel storage tanks, fall protection, hearing safety, electrical safety, confined space, radiation, mold, emergency response, and related areas • Conduct site inspections and surveys • Submit technical reports with findings and guidance to resolve or mitigate EOSH issues • Manage inspections using electronic data and online data storage locations • Research and interpret Federal, State, Local, and FAA rules and regulations • Use a wide variety of sampling instruments and techniques • Sample and interpret analytical reports and identify exceedances • Conduct tower safety inspections and support fall protection training • Provide technical EOSH training to employees as requested • Provide direct support to multi-level customers, senior management, and internal and external stakeholders • Work independently with minimal supervision while fostering cooperation across departments
• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of prior relevant experience OR Master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience • Environmental, health and safety experience • Experience with EOSH field equipment such as PID, XRF, and dosimeter • Proficiency obtaining and developing asbestos samples and reports • Experience conducting and developing indoor air quality (IAQ) samples and reports • Technical competence surveying and developing fall protection and electrical safety issues and reports • Proficiency obtaining and developing drinking water samples and reports • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project • Ability to work with and maintain information in KSN/SharePoint sites • Reliable vehicle • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance • Must be located in the Fayetteville or Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina areas • Ability to climb towers and/or receive and provide fall protection training and complete tower safety inspections • Ability to write reports under strict deadlines, sample and interpret analytical reports, and identify exceedances • Ability to provide comprehensive technical EOSH training • Excellent customer service, problem-solving, self-starting, and independent-work capabilities • Preferred: Undergraduate degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety & Health, or similar • Preferred: Master’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or Environmental Engineering • Preferred: Certified Safety Professional • Preferred: Certified Hazardous Materials Manager
