📋 Description

• Review new and transfer file assignments and prepare initial evaluation letters to claims • Serve initial discovery within 30 days of assignment • Summarize discovery responses and medical records within 30 days of receipt • Take and defend depositions of parties, lay witnesses, and expert witnesses • Complete deposition summaries within 20 days • Conduct legal research and prepare motions, oppositions, and replies • Appear in court for law and motion matters • Prepare for and conduct bench trials, jury trials, and binding arbitrations • Prepare pretrial documents, motions in limine, oppositions, trial motions, and posttrial motions • Perform miscellaneous tasks and assignments from managing and senior managing attorneys • Defend 1st and 3rd party personal injury lawsuits from inception through posttrial motions

🎯 Requirements

• Law degree • Admission to the bar in the state(s) where practicing • 3+ years of insurance defense or related experience • Experience as the primary attorney defending personal injury lawsuits • 3+ insurance defense personal injury trials to verdict or equivalent litigation experience • Comprehensive knowledge of insurance, torts, evidence, civil procedure, and trial practice • Effective communication, persuasion, and analytical skills • Ability to manage a caseload with exposures up to $150,000 • Ability to work independently with minimum direction and good organizational skills • Considerable automobile travel, up to 20% of work time • Must meet established company standards regarding personal driving history and current license status to be eligible
