📋 Description

• Build out Atticus’s personal injury practice as a founding attorney • Own legal operations end to end, including case selection, case strategy, and client representation from intake through resolution • Directly represent severely injured clients in pre-litigation negotiation, mediation, or trial • Manage a team of attorney and non-attorney professionals across intake and case management • Report to and partner with General Manager Peter Bailinson • Work closely with CEO and Managing Attorney Sam Byker • Partner with marketing to develop the client-facing brand and differentiate Atticus from traditional incumbents • Work with product to set standards for after-hours phone support and protocols for high-value cases • Build the practice alongside software engineers, product managers, and operators • Invest resources in developing and scaling the injury practice

🎯 Requirements

• Deep personal injury experience at a plaintiff's firm, ideally across motor vehicle accidents and premises liability • Represented clients through every stage of a case and taken cases to trial • Knowledge of legal operations at a plaintiff’s firm and specific views on improving them • Supervised non-attorney professionals across intake, case management, and support • Resourceful team player able to work in a scrappy startup environment • Demonstrated commitment to doing good and helping people • Based in California • Licensed to practice law in California • Network of injury attorneys for referrals, co-counsel relationships, and general advice (bonus / nice-to-have) • Familiarity with marketing operations of a plaintiff’s firm and marketing/intake economics (bonus / nice-to-have) • Existing relationships or referral channels that could generate cases (bonus / nice-to-have) • Experience starting a legal practice, or experience at a startup or other fast-paced, agile environment (bonus / nice-to-have)
