Merit Medical Oncology is a division/specialty of Merit Medical Systems focused on devices and procedural solutions for oncologic interventions. It is part of Merit Medical Systems, a global manufacturer founded in 1987 that designs and markets proprietary disposable medical devices used in interventional, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures across cardiology, radiology, oncology, critical care and endoscopy. Merit Medical Oncology supports hospitals and physicians worldwide with products (e. g. , biopsy, embolotherapy, drainage, and other oncology-related interventional tools), clinician education and training, regulatory and product documentation, and global distribution and customer support.

📋 Description

• Develop commodity sourcing strategies addressing supply market conditions, technology roadmaps, and product needs/forecasts • Own supplier relationships and drive supplier selection, qualification, development, and overall supplier management • Drive global supply base consolidation analysis, planning, and implementation • Conduct and process quote requests, coordinate engineering clarifications, analyze quote responses, perform cost analysis, and prepare sourcing recommendations • Lead negotiations, including final pricing and establishment of supply contracts or agreements • Coordinate with site managers to identify supply needs and conduct sourcing analysis • Own communication for contract data and volumes across global teams and the supply base • Drive continuous cost and performance improvements by analyzing cost drivers, processes, and specifications • Leverage supplier capabilities and business opportunities domestically and internationally • Maintain internal and external communications regarding sourcing, pricing, and material demand • Perform other required tasks

🎯 Requirements

• Education and/or experience equivalent to a related Bachelor's Degree • Minimum of five years of commodity purchasing experience • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills • Knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work well with others • Excellent knowledge of business mathematics • Demonstrated computer skills, preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database, and other applicable software programs • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; local practice may apply • Computer skills • Supplier management • Contract/agreement review • Negotiation skills • Reports • Product pricing/quality/availability/delivery • Math skills
