• Perform data analysis using Excel, SAS, and proprietary Milliman programs • Assist with consulting across health insurance work areas including Commercial / ACA, Medicare, Behavioral Health, Risk Adjustment, and Dental • Analyze data and complete actuarial calculations • Develop and utilize actuarial models • Implement software solutions • Collaborate with consultants, project managers, analysts, and interns on project teams • Help deliver client reports and other deliverables • Learn and expand knowledge of actuarial concepts and computer programs including Microsoft Excel, VBA, Databricks, and SAS • Assist with business development efforts • Progress through actuarial exams with supported and expected study time
• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or another major with quantitative course work • At least one or more Society of Actuaries exams passed • Solid understanding of basic actuarial concepts • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel • Some knowledge of a statistical analysis language (SAS, R, SQL, or Python) • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines • Strong time management skills • Ability to work independently and within a team • Client focused and results oriented • Legally authorized to work in the United States without immigration support or sponsorship now or in the future • Past internship or work experience with an actuarial firm doing data analysis preferred
