• Serve as a technical advisor to internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate specifications and error-free designs • Maintain current industry standards files, including ANSI, IEEE, ABS, USCG, DNV, NEMA, and IEC • Collaborate with account managers and internal stakeholders to define technical scope for tested product offerings • Participate in RFQ and specification reviews to identify technical risks, material constraints, and schedule impacts • Develop, document, and present value-engineered solutions based on drawings, specifications, and customer requirements • Review project quotation packages and sales quotation letters for technical accuracy • Develop and review preliminary datasheets and finalize project datasheets before design kickoff • Communicate with United Laboratories regarding product offerings and testing requirements • Support R&D products requiring type testing of new equipment • Participate in design reviews for customer submittal drawings and UL label applicability • Act as a technical liaison among customers, engineering, estimating, and operations • Evaluate design impacts on manufacturability, serviceability, and field support • Help develop, maintain, and improve standardized engineering processes, tools, and guidelines • Complete special projects assigned by the supervisor
• High School Diploma or GED, required • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred • Professional Engineer (PE) License, preferred • 5+ years of electrical power systems application experience up to 38 kV in Marine, Heavy Industrial, or Oil & Gas environments • Experience with switchgear • Experience with motor control centers (MCCs) • Experience with generators and motors • Experience with power factor correction • Experience with circuit breakers, fuses, and reclosers • Experience with transformers • Experience with protective relays and protection schemes • Experience with UPS and battery systems • Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) • Experience with automation systems including SCADA, DCS, HMI, and IEDs • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NEMA, IEEE, IEC, UL/CSA, ABS, ANSI C37.1, and ANSI C37.2 • Strong practical knowledge of electrical power systems engineering, design tools, and production processes • Ability to independently identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues while following procedures and ethical standards • Understanding of materials, production methods, quality control, and cost considerations • Proficiency with Microsoft Office • Familiarity with project management, Salesforce CRM, and ERP/accounting systems • Advanced verbal and written communication skills • Ability to interpret technical and regulatory documents and present complex information to customers and senior leadership • Advanced mathematical aptitude, including statistical and algebraic problem-solving
