📋 Description

• Receive referrals from realtors, builders, branches, and/or developers with pre-established M&T relationships • Follow up with potential customers by telephone, fax, and email • Sell inbound customers on using M&T Mortgage for mortgage financing • Answer initial questions and explain M&T products • Pre-qualify customers • Originate mortgages and coordinate settlements • Begin mortgage applications in person or over the phone and send completion packages to customers • Enter completed applications into the system • Obtain and analyze financial and credit data to determine loan risk • Collect closing conditions and order appraisals • Coordinate draw schedules and schedule closings • Negotiate loan terms and conditions with mortgagors • Provide timely feedback to lead sources about lead disposition • Keep informed of changing rules and regulations • Establish and maintain federal registration requirements under the SAFE Act

🎯 Requirements

• Associate’s degree and minimum 2 years of mortgage origination and/or customer service experience • Alternatively, a combined minimum of 4 years of higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years of mortgage originator and/or customer service experience, in lieu of a degree • General PC knowledge and departmental software • Organizational skills • Sales ability • Mathematical skills • Ability to interact professionally with all levels • Customer service skills • Knowledge of products and government regulations • Responsibility to establish and maintain federal registration requirements under the SAFE Act • Work under general supervision
