📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain high-throughput, event-driven data services and orchestration pipelines using Python, Airflow, and Snowflake • Architect and evolve scalable, secure, and extensible data pipeline platform components • Modernize legacy ingestion pipelines using CDC and Kafka event streaming • Collaborate on DataOps best practices, including data modeling, CI/CD, unit testing, and validation frameworks • Define and promote data engineering standards and best practices across the organization • Review other engineers’ work and provide implementation guidance • Increase recurring engineering work handled by agents while establishing guardrails and safe AI usage • Help shape data governance strategy, including safe and consistent tool and AI assistant access to data • Own Snowflake and pipeline infrastructure cost efficiency and stewardship • Mentor data engineers and data analytics engineers • Lead cross-functional initiatives spanning infrastructure, data services, and observability • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to solve complex user-facing and system-level challenges • Develop and maintain secure, compliant, and well-governed data systems using role-based access controls and data lifecycle management

🎯 Requirements

• 8–12+ years in engineering roles, including 3–5+ years in data engineering at senior, architect, or staff level working end-to-end data platforms • Extensive experience in Snowflake or a similar data store • Experience with distributed and non-distributed, structured and unstructured data stores, including RDS, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis, and S3 • Advanced SQL skills, including writing and optimizing complex queries against large-scale, high-cardinality datasets • Extensive experience with Airflow or a similar orchestration tool • Experience writing high-throughput services in Python • Experience with high-volume, event-driven architecture, including CDC and distributed event streaming such as Kafka • Experience with API design patterns such as REST and SOAP • Strong DataOps skills, including data modeling, CI/CD pipelines, source control, unit testing frameworks, and data validation frameworks • Experience implementing observability through monitoring and alerting • Strong familiarity with infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform • Experience designing or driving adoption of agentic or AI-assisted development workflows • Demonstrated experience defining engineering standards or best practices adopted across a team or organization • Cost-conscious ownership of infrastructure and systems
