📋 Description

• Own and evolve the ERP connector framework design, including module boundaries, adapter interface, idempotency ledger, posting matrix, queue strategy, and tenant configuration • Run early architecture decision spikes and document decision records • Gate canonical data models with Fleetio and define interim models when necessary • Translate accounting requirements into system design and lead finance reviews of posting defaults • Build core framework code, especially ledger and posting-integrity paths • Sequence work across SAP and Dynamics development lanes and manage scope against capacity • Set engineering standards aligned with Fleetio quality guidelines and Terraform/Pulumi IaC standards • Review code and establish test strategy with QA, including duplicate-posting and fault-injection tests • Lead the technical side of Fleetio’s kickoff demo • Lead knowledge transfer and runbooks for Fleetio’s integrations team • Define the team’s use of AI-assisted development within the statement of work • Provide ad-hoc technical support to other practitioners • Assist with sales requests by providing technical recommendations and estimates to prospective clients • Participate in other duties as assigned • Serve as technical lead and hands-on builder for a multi-tenant ERP connector framework for Fleetio, integrating SAP S/4HANA Cloud and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central • Lead three senior engineers and a QA engineer • Ensure financial data moves between Fleetio and customer ERPs without duplicates and with a complete audit trail • Act as the main technical voice to Fleetio product, integrations, and infrastructure teams • Hand the framework over to Fleetio’s integrations team at the end of the engagement

🎯 Requirements

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in a computer related field, coding bootcamp certificate, OR a thorough demonstration of self-taught software development skills • 8+ years of software development experience • 2-3+ years of application software architecture experience • Familiarity with common design patterns and approaches for solving typical application problems • Ability to write complex software and explain the reasoning behind code • Strong technical communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences • Strong understanding of the development process and ability to maintain an iterative approach throughout the project lifecycle • Experience architecting and shipping production system-to-system integrations or an integration platform • Deep data-integrity design experience, including idempotency, outbox/ledger patterns, at-least-once delivery, and reconciliation • Multi-tenant SaaS design experience, including tenant isolation, per-tenant secrets, and kill switches • AWS and infrastructure-as-code design responsibility • Fluency in Python and/or TypeScript/Node, and comfort reading Ruby/Rails • Experience leading a client-facing technical engagement under a hard date • Experience designing and architecting scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend systems and system-to-system integrations • Strong understanding of distributed systems, architectural trade-offs, and production-level design decisions • Hands-on experience integrating AI-assisted development tools into daily software engineering workflows • Ability to leverage AI development tools through structured context management, technical specifications, prompt engineering, and iterative validation • Must be legally authorized to work within the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status
