📋 Description

• Lead a squad of engineers day-to-day while reviewing code, participating in design discussions, and occasionally shipping code • Drive execution by breaking ambiguous problems into plans, setting sprint goals, removing blockers, and holding the team accountable • Own the software development lifecycle from planning and design through implementation, testing, and release • Run sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives using GitHub and internal tools • Champion modern and secure software development practices • Partner with product managers to translate customer and community problems into shippable plans • Coach and mentor engineers, provide feedback, support technical growth, and build a strong hiring bench • Foster ownership, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing • Support open-source contributors and guide community-facing initiatives • Report progress and risks to engineering leadership • Make informed technical trade-off decisions while trusting engineers with implementation details • Coordinate with the Director of Engineering, Product team, and peer engineering managers on cross-functional initiatives, user experience, dependencies, and blockers

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager or Team Lead • Experience in a player-coach capacity, writing code or reviewing pull requests regularly • Track record of driving projects to completion on tight timelines • Strong technical background sufficient to review designs and code • Experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD • Proficiency with GitHub for code management, project tracking, and collaboration • Solid understanding of software security principles and practices • Experience with open-source software development and community engagement is a plus • Excellent, direct communication skills • Proven ability to coach engineers and help them grow • Networking industry experience is desirable • Familiarity with Python, Django, Go, gRPC, or OpenTelemetry is desirable • Knowledge of cloud platforms and services such as AWS and Azure is desirable • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is desirable • Understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements is desirable
