📋 Description

• Build technologies that scale Netflix’s content creation efforts globally and efficiently • Build and operate robust, scalable, and highly available infrastructure focused on developer experience, observability, and operational excellence • Investigate complex problems and customer pain points and solve them with appropriate technologies • Promote high-quality code and engineering best practices • Assist with career development, mentor engineers, and build technical communities • Architect, build, and operate distributed systems with high availability, fault tolerance, and performance • Set technical direction for engineering projects and make architectural decisions • Influence partner and cross-functional teams • Explain complex technical concepts to varied stakeholders and drive conversations and decisions through written and verbal communication • Participate in the on-call rotation and lead incident reviews • Contribute to the Enterprise Workflow Platform’s managed data, workflow, messaging, and communication platforms for Studio and Content Engineering

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience crafting complex distributed systems • Recent proficient experience with Java, C#, or other object-oriented programming languages • Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles, concurrency, multithreading, performance tuning, and observability • Proven track record architecting, building, and operating distributed systems with high availability, fault tolerance, and performance • Experience setting technical direction for engineering projects • Experience making architectural decisions and influencing partner and cross-functional teams • Ability to describe complex technical concepts to varied stakeholders through written and/or verbal communication • Participation in an on-call rotation and leadership of incident reviews • Product mindset toward infrastructure and platforms • Experience developing long-term technical strategies aligned with business goals • Proficiency with gRPC and/or GraphQL API design and implementation • Working experience with Kafka, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Memcached, and/or AWS • Familiarity with library development and dependency-injection frameworks, preferably Spring Boot • Use of AI-assisted coding tools and ability to evaluate new AI-driven development tools
