📋 Description

• Participate as a compliance monitoring team member to determine compliance with NERC Operations and Planning Standards and, under certain circumstances, NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standards • Evaluate Registered Entity evidence as an Audit Team member • Serve as Audit Team Lead when assigned (Senior Compliance Engineer) • Mentor staff on O&P Standards and operational practices (Senior Compliance Engineer) • Review audit findings to provide input on root cause and Bulk Power System risk • Assess Registered Entities’ internal-control maturity through document and evidentiary reviews • Create documentation supporting NPCC compliance determinations and maintain complete final records • Create and maintain compliance monitoring documentation, records, and metrics • Maintain awareness of NERC rules, reliability standards, standards under development, and related projects • Identify operations and planning trends within NPCC and develop outreach or analysis documents • Provide subject matter expertise to Registration, Certification, Risk, and Enforcement departments • Provide training, education, and communications to NPCC staff, Registered Entities, and ERO Enterprise staff • Represent NPCC on ERO compliance-monitoring task forces, working groups, and special projects • Perform other ad hoc projects and duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems engineering, electronics engineering, or an industry-related field, with 5 or more years of related industry experience; or equivalent combination of education and related industry experience • 5–10 years of experience in the electric utility industry or related technical industry • Experience in at least one relevant discipline: transmission protection systems; generation protection systems; transmission or generator operations; balancing area operations; reliability coordination; transmission planning studies; EMS engineering; SCADA modeling; substation projects; transmission line design; NERC O&P Standards and internal controls; or NERC/NPCC compliance monitoring and enforcement programs • Extensive experience with Inverter-Based Resources, generator compliance, and/or modeling preferred • Effective knowledge of NERC Rules of Procedure, NERC Reliability Standards, NPCC Reliability Criteria, Directories and Procedures • Ability to develop and deliver professional presentations • Ability to engage effectively in stakeholder discussions • Ability to manage multiple assignments with minimal guidance • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, interpersonal, conflict resolution, organizational, and project management skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite • Strong leadership and teamwork skills • Ability to work and travel within the U.S. and travel to Canada
