• Lead a team of engineers responsible for the design and analysis of safety and non-safety I&C systems for NuScale small modular reactors • Manage professionals and provide technical assistance aligned with project goals • Develop engineering deliverables communicating the design and technical aspects of I&C systems for the reactor coolant system and nuclear steam supply system • Lead system-level and detailed analyses for Module Protection and Plant Protection systems • Generate specifications and descriptions for I&C plant components • Support Plant Systems Engineering objectives and project work breakdown structures • Lead cross-functional projects and apply applicable technical approaches and standards • Evaluate performance, administer counseling, and conduct annual performance reviews • Provide technical and advisory assistance to projects and offices and develop technical statements of work • Develop training materials, department R&D needs, and industry-forum participation proposals • Develop team members’ capabilities in support of career goals and team objectives • Interface and coordinate with internal and external clients for successful project execution • Make technical decisions regarding analysis methodologies and NRC licensing criteria • Stay current with industry product development and apply best practices • Perform other duties as assigned
• Minimum B.S. degree in Engineering or related field • Minimum 8+ years of experience in I&C engineering and/or engineering management for complex systems or power plants • Lead and/or managerial experience preferred • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage complex projects with multiple work phases • Strong technical writing skills • Proven ability to lead staff from multiple disciplines and coordinate design interfaces to deliver timely design solutions • Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 • Understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards, and guidelines including 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1 • Ability to understand and communicate clearly by phone, personal interaction, and computer • Ability to learn new job functions and apply new concepts accurately in a rapidly evolving environment • Ability to travel nationally and locally • P.E. preferred
