📋 Description

• Deliver efficient and accurate healthcare coding services for member clients • Ensure compliance with payer requirements, organizational policies, and applicable coding guidelines • Extract and interpret diagnoses and procedures from patient medical records and electronic health systems • Review patient encounters and assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes • Validate accuracy and completeness of clinical information • Support appropriate reimbursement by recommending accurate code assignments for third-party payer claims • Identify potential high-risk coding trends • Apply best practices to optimize revenue and enhance coding accuracy • Research and obtain additional information from providers or clinical staff via Epic In-Basket messaging • Proactively escalate complex or unique coding issues • Collaborate with supervisors to resolve coding challenges • Apply newly acquired knowledge to future scenarios • Recommend process enhancements to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness • Support member organizations on-site for new software installations as needed • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Certificate of completion from AAPC (CPC Certificate), AHIMA (CCS Certificate), or ADCA (CDC certificate) is required; certification must be in hand at application • Experience working with Epic EHR highly preferred • Experience with FQHCs highly desired; candidates with FQHC experience will be given priority • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis at the time of application • Position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future • Ability to work independently and efficiently from a home office environment • High-speed Internet service • Ability to work in a distraction-free workplace • Reading, speaking, writing, and understanding English • Ability to sit for long periods; stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms • Must be on camera for all virtual meetings
