📋 Description

• Work alongside the sales team as the technical and domain expert for enterprise customers • Help customers understand the value of Okta's solutions • Understand customer challenges and business issues • Provide product demonstrations aligned with customer needs • Answer product feature and technical questions from customers, partners, and Okta colleagues • Plan and deliver proofs of concept for complex customer use cases • Collaborate with Okta engineering teams as needed • Provide product enhancement feedback to product management • Share and learn best practices and reusable assets with other Solutions Engineers • Stay current on competitive analysis and market differentiation • Support executive briefings, conferences, user groups, and trade shows • Lead as a subject matter expert on product solutions and competitive knowledge when requested • Develop, position, and demonstrate product-specific solutions during sales cycles • Achieve quarterly and annual sales goals for an assigned territory

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of pre-sales engineering experience in IAM • Strong understanding of IAM concepts, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML • Experience with lifecycle management, role-based access control (RBAC), and provisioning/deprovisioning • Hands-on experience in web, mobile, backend, or IP-based real-time communications development areas • Experience with REST APIs, API Gateways, and SDKs • Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or Vercel • Understanding of application security concerns, including password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, and XSRF • Customer-facing experience, ideally in pre-sales, consulting, or support • Ability to communicate complex technical ideas, including on-the-fly whiteboard explanations • Elite communication skills and confidence presenting to highly skilled audiences • Territory management skills, including pipeline building and collaboration with sales counterparts • Diagramming experience for user journey flows and complex architecture diagrams • Typically 25% travel • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a comparable field is preferred; not a required credential
