📋 Description

• Deliver professional services engagements from kickoff to customer sign-off with measurable outcomes • Tune controls using real alert data to reduce noise and build customer-specific policies and detections • Document and hand off tuned controls so customers can maintain them • Assess customer-built AI agents and MCP servers before launch • Deliver findings and remediation plans • Build analyses and evidence for finance and compliance teams regarding AI spend and control frameworks • Handle custom deployments, integrations, and automation • Turn solutions into reusable tooling, templates, and methods • Help define Onyx’s professional services offerings and engagement completion criteria • Report to the Director of Customer Engineering as an early hire on a new team

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in hands-on technical roles with enterprise customers, including taking scoped projects from start to finish • Security background such as detection engineering, application security, security architecture, or cloud security • Strong scripting skills (Python or similar) • Comfort with REST APIs • Comfort with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) • Experience querying and analyzing logs and data (SQL or log query languages) • Clear technical writing and communication, including findings and reports customers can act on • Comfort with ambiguity and interest in building a new function • Nice to have: experience with AI security, including testing LLM applications, agents, or MCP servers • Nice to have: experience with AI/ML platforms, LLM tooling, or agent frameworks • Nice to have: background in SIEM or SOC work • Nice to have: familiarity with security and AI governance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act) • Nice to have: exposure to cloud or AI cost analysis • Nice to have: relevant certifications (e.g., GIAC, cloud provider certifications)
