📋 Description

• Own and run OpenRouter's Discord end to end • Design and run Discord-specific events, giveaways, and challenges • Own and scale contributor and helper recognition programs • Recruit, onboard, and support community moderators • Design non-monetary recognition and benefits for moderators • Listen to community sentiment about OpenRouter, models, and the broader AI space • Report community pulse continuously to the team • Build and maintain automations that surface community sentiment, trends, and signals • Partner with the events team to create scalable playbooks, resources, and support for community-led events • Extend community presence to Twitter/X, Reddit, and other social channels • Synthesize community feedback, bug reports, and sentiment into actionable insights for engineering, product, and design • Close the product feedback loop with the community • Partner with marketing and DevRel on community-facing campaigns, launches, and content • Establish a regular cadence of Discord events, challenges, and giveaways • Build a healthy moderator team with clear roles, recognition, and benefits

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in community management, developer community, or a closely related role • Experience running Discord communities (or similar) at meaningful scale, including events, programs, and moderation • Hands-on experience building with LLMs and their APIs; shipped projects using them; able to read and write example code; able to discuss model tradeoffs, harnesses, and techniques with working developers • Personable, humble, and highly accessible • Knowledge of spaces where AI developers gather and current community trends • Strong written communication across Discord, Twitter/X, and Reddit • Background designing contributor, ambassador, or moderator programs • Experience running online events, hackathons, giveaways, or community challenges • 1:n mindset focused on scalable programs and systems • Self-directed and entrepreneurial; able to define problems, identify leverage, and execute independently • Comfortable being publicly visible as a representative of OpenRouter • Ideal candidate based in the Bay Area or able to travel regularly for events • Experience building automations or lightweight tooling for community listening and sentiment tracking is a nice to have • Experience running or scaling in-person community events and meetups across cities or regions is a nice to have • Familiarity with OpenRouter as a user is a nice to have • Experience creating light content for developer audiences is a nice to have
